Matching Envelopes

Awhile back I got envelope liner templates from one of my favorite sites: Paper Source! I've been trying to remember to use them more lately.

Learning from my mistakes

So far all of the items I've posted have been first draft items...that is to say it was my first try at making a particular design. These cards however are the new and improved versions of a card I made when I was first starting out and therefore "New and Improved". I'm not going to go into particulars, but I simplified things quite a bit, got better results, and alleviated some of my 'gluing issues'. Enjoy!

Circles and Squares

I got this fun idea for some cards here: Dali Decals. Maybe in my future house I will play with this sort of fun on the walls, but for now cards will have to do.

An addition to my craft area...

In our house Jason and I share an office. My half is neat and tidy and arranged as my crafting area. Jason's half includes his desk, usually in some stage of disarray. This weekend I acquired a new shelf (still in the box!)  from a family member who hadn't found a use for it and had it in storage for several years. Jason helped me hang it today, and other than being a little crooked, it's a wonderful addition to my little crafting area. Jason says when we have a baby, I'll have to share this room with him/her...I'm no longer so keen on the idea. ;)

Does this count?

I didn't make any new cards today, but I did order some new tools and buy some new supplies...does that count? Along with other things, I took the opportunity to plant some little pots with bamboo for the bookshelf in our bedroom. It's pretty low light on that side of the house so there aren't many plants in that room. I think this little green will cheer things up a bit...I want to find a ceramic plate (like this only cheaper) to put under these pots to protect the bookcase from the water I'm bound to spill when watering them. Happy Greens!

It's what's on the inside that counts...

I recently got myself some rubber stamps I think will be very handy. Jason may grumble about my expanding craft collection...but when he needed popsicle sticks who had them?? Me.

Spring babies!

I don't know many folks having babies this spring, but this sure is a springy baby-card, and probably the favorite baby-card I've made thus far. (Labor intensive, but super-cute!)

Valentines for Everyone!

These were fun to come up with and make. I found some good ideas online as usual, and made use of lots of fun paper.

Christmas 2010

This year I followed through on last year's promise to START EARLIER on my gifts, and was done with everything in early December. This year the mom's and grandma's (and Jen) got a box set of 12 handmade cards for various occassions, complete with envelopes, return address labels, stamps, and a pen! (There are more than 12 pictures...not everyone got exactly the same set).

A good all-around card. I liked figured out how to use rivets. I will be using more of these for certain!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas!

After learning from the Christmas debacle of 2009, this year was about simplicity. These were the note cards I included with our Christmas letter this year. The green and red note cards were just flat cards that I ordered pre-cut. The tree was cut out using my cricut, and the saying was just your run of the mill ink-jet printer job. I didn't hate myself at the end of this project; Great Success!

Baby Oh Baby!

There have been a grundle of babies born lately, so I've gotten to practice my card-making skills a bit more. Nothing fancy, but a fun (and I hope thoughtful) way to celebrate.



Happy 99th Grandma Myers!

After meticulously gluing all these two layered candles one at a time by hand, I had considered suggesting she save the card for her hundredth birthday and I'd just mail an extra candle. She died several months short of 100...I was happy I'd put in the extra work on this card for her 99th.
